Andrew Stillwell received dual B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from University of Missouri, Columbia, MO in 2005. He spent seven years at National Instruments before arriving at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received M.S. and Ph.D degrees in electrical and computer engineering in 2015 and 2019 respectively. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests include renewable energy applications, hybrid switched-capacitor converters, power electronics design optimization, high-density and high-efficiency power converters, and advanced control techniques for multilevel converters.

Graduate Students

Aria Delmar Aria received her B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Florida State University in 2021 and joined the Stillwell Power Group at UIUC in Fall of 2021. She received her M.S. degree in Summer of 2023 and is continuing to work towards her Ph.D. She received the Grainger Power Award in 2023. Her research focuses on hybrid switched-capacitor converters for data center power delivery.

Arjit (AJ) Bali AJ received his B.S. degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and joined the Stillwell Power Group at UIUC in Fall of 2021. His research focuses on high power density motor drives for electric flight.

Nicole Stokowski Nicole received her B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California – Berkeley in 2022. Her research focuses on pulsed-power conversion for wing defrosting in electric flight.

Andrew Freeman

Andrew received his B.S. degree from Purdue University in Electrical Engineering and joined the Stillwell Power Group at UIUC in Fall of 2023. His research interests include hybrid switched-capacitor converters for electric flight.

Will received his B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California – Berkeley in 2023 and joined the Stillwell Power Group at UIUC in Fall of 2023. His research focuses high power density hybrid switched-capacitors converters for data center power delivery.

Undergraduate Researchers

Aidan Rodgers Aidan is a Senior in Electrical Engineering and is conducting research on high power density hybrid switched-capacitor power converters for data center power delivery.

Tj Pickett-Pinex Tj is a Sophomore in Electrical Engineering and is conducting research on solar array irradiance variations in solar PV panels with variable physical orientations.
